As the First-Year Outdoor Program Director, I am excited to oversee the student leader Steering Committee to create a truly wonderful pre-orientation program facilitating group adventure-based experiences that promote the development of community, self-awareness, and a sense of place in the transition to Harvard. I have a commitment to creating physically and emotionally safe trips that intentionally build inclusive communities for students of all backgrounds and identities to cultivate a sense of belonging in the days leading up to orientation.

After graduating from Middlebury College, I worked as Middlebury’s Assistant Director of Outdoor Programming, where I ran similar orientation trips. After Middlebury, I pursued a field instructor position at Adventure Treks, an outdoor education company that runs high-adventure expedition trips for folks from age 12 to 21, where I spent three years working directly with students, building incredible communities in amazing places. For the last three years, I have been a full-time director for Adventure Treks, working as part of the machinery to create these magical student experiences every year. The shift to Harvard provides me with a welcome return to an academic setting and the ability to directly connect with students, continue building leadership skills, and provide mentorship on campus and in the field.

When I’m not working, you can find me checking out local music acts, cooking over-complicated meals, or exploring the local woods and rivers.
